The cost may seem high in today's world of cheap apps but you will find that you get what you pay for.Įarlier 5-star review posted by KD0PMW on Two critical features are excellent and responsive support and frequent upgrades to the software. You can print QSL cards or labels directly from your log, export contacts as ADIF file to upload. Track your awards progress when chasing DX, WAS, and IOTAs. The color coding lets you know if you have an entity worked already by band and mode and even if you have worked a particular callsign in the past. See a spot and click on it to tune the radio to the correct band, frequency, and mode. It does so much more than just logging and could be called MacSpotter since the DXClusters displays the latest spots while the Band display shows activity by band. I have been using MacloggerDX for many years and I wont run the radio without it fired up. in that yes they can do a lot of everything by compromising everything such that they actually do nothing really well. I guess Maclogger DX is in my mind rather like all-season tires, all-mountain skis, all-band antennas, etc. Maintaining 3 logs that don't tie together is a far cry from what was touted as 1 log doing everything. Currently I will might use Maclogger DX for some of my General Logging (due the money and time I already invested and the lack of other Mac logging software available), but I will have to still maintain paper log books for unsupported VHF/UHF contacts, plus a separate PC laptop with real Contest Logging software for Contesting at a Contest pace. To this end Mac users are very limited in their choices. Maybe someday there will be a logging program available for both Contesting and General Logging, but Maclogger DX doesn't cut it so don't even think that it might. Unfortunately Maclogger DX won't do either Contest or all of my General Logging for me. These all eventually became obsolete for me and as I also moved to a Mac personally I hoped for a Mac based Contest Logging solution. My frame of reference for expedient Contest Logging at contest pace has been the three programs I have previously owned and operated: CT, NA, and TR. In actual fact it only could support one of twelve possible entry classes that exist today for the ARRL VHF Contests. There is a third party Cabrillo Converter built and supported by a user group (not by the actual Maclogger DX developer) which attempts to create a proper Cabrillo log Contest entry from the Maclogger DX software's unique file format, and when you look at what contests are supported they claim it supports the ARRL VHF Contests, but it cannot possibly do so when you operate the aforementioned VHF/UHF bands. That was truly my hope, and I was very disappointed to invest around $100 and more importantly several hours to learn that it is just NOT suitable for contest logging as it is too slow to use for entering contacts at a contest pace, and that it is also not suitable for Contest and/or General logging if you operate VHF/UHF bands because it does not support many VHF/UHF bands that VHF-ers like me do regularly operate such as 222, 903, 1296, 2304, and 3456 MHz. From everything I read Maclogger DX would be a Mac user's dream logging program and would bridge the longstanding gap between Contest and General Logging, so you would only have to maintain one log.

From baseline, plasma epinephrine increased 6.3-fold, whereas norepinephrine increased 14.5-fold at the end of sprinting ( Figure 1). examined the catecholamine response of 12 males who completed ten 6-second cycle ergometer sprints with a 30-second recovery between each sprint. found significantly elevated epinephrine and norepinephrine levels after 20 min of HIIE cycle exercise (8 s/12 s and 12 s/24 s protocols) in trained and untrained young women. measured catecholamine response to long (24 s/36 s recovery) and short (6 s/9 s recovery) bout intermittent treadmill exercise and found that norepinephrine was significantly elevated postexercise. Catecholamine response to HIIE protocols that are less intensive than the Wingate protocol have also been shown to be elevated. Catecholamine response has been shown to be significantly elevated after Wingate sprints for both men and women. Hormones that have been shown to increase during HIIE include catecholamines, cortisol, and growth hormones. Heart rate increased to 142 bpm after the first sprint and then increased to 173 bpm following sprint ten. A similar pattern of heart rate response was found for an HIIE protocol consisting of ten 6-second sprints interspersed with 30 s recovery. In this protocol, there is typically a small heart rate decrease of between 5–8 bpm during each 12-second recovery period. Heart rate response to the 8 s/12 s protocol typically averages around 150 bpm after 5 min of HIIE which increases to 170 bpm after 15 min of HIIE. , using the Wingate protocol, recorded peak heart rates of 170 bpm immediately after a 30-second maximal all-out cycle sprint. Heart rate response is dependent on the nature of the HIIE protocol but typically is significantly elevated during exercise and declines during the period between sprint and recovery. Acute Response and Chronic Adaptations to High-Intensity Intermittent ExerciseĪcute responses to HIIE that have been identified include heart rate, hormones, venous blood glucose, and lactate levels, autonomic, and metabolic reactivity. This review summarises results of research examining the effect of different forms of HIIE on fitness, insulin resistance, skeletal muscle, subcutaneous, and abdominal fat loss.Ģ. Thus, one of the characteristics of HIIE is that it involves markedly lower training volume making it a time-efficient strategy to accrue adaptations and possible health benefits compared to traditional aerobic exercise programs. For the HIIE Wingate protocols, total exercise time is typically between 3 to 4 min of total exercise per session. Total sprint time is 8 min with 12 min of low intensity cycling. Thus, instead of 4 to 6 sprints per session, as used in Wingate protocol studies, subjects using the 8 s/12 s protocol sprint 60 times at a lower exercise intensity. For example, we have used an 8-second cycle sprint followed by 12 s of low intensity cycling for a period of 20 min. Other less demanding HIIE protocols have also been utilised. Thus, the Wingate protocol is likely to be unsuitable for most overweight, sedentary individuals interested in losing fat. Insight into the skeletal muscle adaptation to HIIE has mainly been achieved using this type of exercise however, as this protocol is extremely hard, subjects have to be highly motivated to tolerate the accompanying discomfiture. This protocol amounts to 3 to 4 min of exercise per session with each session being typically performed 3 times a week for 2 to 6 weeks. Subjects typically perform the Wingate test 4 to 6 times separated by 4 min of recovery. The most utilized protocol in past research has been the Wingate test which consists of 30 s of all-out sprint with a hard resistance. Subjects studied have included adolescents, young men and women, older individuals, and a number of patient groups. Most commonly the sprints are performed on a stationary cycle ergometer at an intensity in excess of 90% of maximal oxygen uptake ( V ˙ O 2 max ). The length of both the sprint and recovery periods has varied from 6 s to 4 min. HIIE protocols have varied considerably but typically involve repeated brief sprinting at an all-out intensity immediately followed by low intensity exercise or rest. Accumulating evidence suggests that high-intensity intermittent exercise (HIIE) has the potential to be an economical and effective exercise protocol for reducing fat of overweight individuals. Thus, exercise protocols that can be carried out by overweight, inactive individuals that more effectively reduce body fat are required. Disappointingly, these kinds of protocols have led to negligible weight loss. Most exercise protocols designed to induce fat loss have focused on regular steady state exercise such as walking and jogging at a moderate intensity. The distillery mostly produces un-peated spirit, although since around 1990 they have also been producing some heavily-peated (to around 30 ppm) spirit. The distillery has four very tall stills, and has quite a large annual production capacity of around 2.2 million litres, with all barley sourced from Bairds commercial maltings on the Scottish mainland, and unfortunately they are big fans of both adding artificial colouring to, and also chill filtering their official bottlings. The distillery is currently owned by Whyte & Mackay, who produce quite a few blended whiskies, and also own Dalmore, Tamnavulin and Fettercairn distilleries. It's a rather obscure, quite remote and austere place, but there's also plenty of natural beauty, without masses of tourists or commercialisation spoiling it. Aside from the distillery, the island's only claims to fame are its large population of around 3500 deer, the three 'Paps of Jura' mountains, and the fact that George Orwell wrote his novel '1984' while living on the island. It's the only distillery on the island, which although quite large has a tiny population of around 200 people, and only a single road. The original distillery on Jura was dismantled in 1901 after around 90 years in operation, while the current distillery was built on the same site in 1963, making it one of the younger distilleries in the area. Jura Distillery is located on the Scottish Isle of the same name, which is only a five-minute ferry ride from Port Askaig on our beloved Islay. But they've all been relatively young official bottlings, so this cask strength independent bottling promises to be a little different. I've tasted a few whiskies from Jura Distillery, and so far they've all been quite disappointing. Note: Query Item is like Column in terms of DB naming convention. Anevia and Horgus Gwerm then shows up and you’ll receive the Cultist’s Dispatch which is a helpful item that can track down the cultists (this unlocks the quest, Spies Amidst Our Ranks). It is recommended that you go with Lann since he has better stats and at a later part of the game, you’ll still be able to recruit Wenduag. At this point, if you’ve previously sided with Wenduag, Lann will appear and assist you but he won’t return to your party, on the other hand if you have Lann in your party, Wenduag shows up and helps – simply defeat Hostilla and the rest of the enemies.Īfter the battle, you’ll learn that both Lann and Wenduag are actually servants of Savamelekh and you will need to make a choice of who you want to join your party. As you head up, make sure you prepare and buff your team since you’ll fight against the demon Savamelekh and his followers. Move towards the northeast, past the room that has a pentagram in the center, then unlock the door that’s in the large room which is at the north side of the room with the beds and then head up the steps. From here, enter the west room, defeat the Cambions and solve the puzzle which is at the corner of the room. Simply defeat the enemy and inside the room with the statue of the horned demon Baphomet, interact with the torch-switch to find a Half-Plate. Next, go east and make sure to prepare and buff your party if needed since you will encounter a Medium Earth Elemental. Now, in the next room, eliminate another Hand of Hosilla and then loot them to find Hosilla’s Key. Once you’ve found the cultists, open the door in the corner with another torch lever. Interact with it and check the back room, and then go west into the long hall. Now in the northwest room where you’ll see some dining tables, you’ll find an Inspection check that will reveal a torch which is actually a switch. If you go southwest of the map, you’ll find a Corrupted Mongrel Brute, kill the enemy and loot the body to find a Ring of Protection +1. After you defeat the elemental enemy., check the west corner to find a crate which requires a skill check of 10 Perception, inside it you’ll find the Flow of Water Ring and the Amulet of Natural Armor +1. Still at the basement section, before continuing forward, make sure to buff your team and then head south, followed by east where you’ll encounter a battle against a Large Water Elemental. This reveals a back room that has the Crypt Raider’s Armour. Make sure to check the locked door by using a torch as a lever. You’ll also find Hosilla’s orders that will help you by acquiring a tip regarding the maze. Next, go north and eliminate the Hand of Hosilla and Neophyte Fighter. From there, proceed north that will take you to a larger room that has a dining table in the center of it – make sure you explore it before going east which will lead to the flooded basement. Head right towards the hallway and disarm the trap here, and then take another right where you’ll find a room that has a Lore: Religion skill check. On the other side, open the next door and then loot the two chests, be prepared since you will fight against the Baphomet Cultists and Neophyte Wizards. Head east until you come across a doorway that you can squeeze through.
223 be achieved that will cycle a 5.56 AR? Maybe if one could load a 150-200 grain bullet. I've experienced enough lodged bullets and they aren't fun.Ĭan a subsonic. Can one use light bullets in subsonic AR loadings? Probably, but I won't. In guns w/o a gas port I use lightweight bullets for subsonic. I know the 100 yard group was terrible because the bullet has destabilized. That was many years ago that I did that work and some of it is sharp and some is fuzzy. At 100 yards the bullets are keyholing and groups were around 4" if I remember correctly. It was a tackdriver out to 75 yards but with a rainbow trajectory. I think my subsonic AR load used Green Dot and i know it used a Sierra 70 gr. I also don't like using really fast powder. Of course with guns having a gas port near the muzzle, or entirely absent, that possibility is greatly reduced or eliminated. You also won't experience lodged bullets in the barrel. You'll hear it (or not hear it) when you go subsonic. I suggest that they start slightly higher, into the super sonic range and work down. Oh, and you had better know what you're doing. So to counteract this I tell folks to do exactly the opposite of what is suggested when loading. If too little velocity is attained or the bullet is too light the bullet doesn't exit the barrel and the pressure can be heard to FFZZZZZ as it leaks out the port. We're not dealing with much pressure when using fast powder in the 5.56/.223 when the bullet reaches the gas port. I like my subsonic loads to use a heavy bullet for the AR. The problem with subsonic loads in an AR is the gas port in the barrel. Sure it could be fired out of an SBR or handgun, but it'll never reach much above subsonic and be safe. It's just plain neat to shoot something even quieter than an air rifle, but with way more power.Mark got it right, subsonic and not normal 5.56/.223 velocity. Plus, I had everything, just took stuff that I wasn't using off of the shelf.Īnd yes, there is the "cool" factor as well. The load uses a primer and 2.0 gr of green dot, brass lasts forever. Expense? I don't remember what I paid for surplus and blem 33 gr V-Max bullets, but they were very inexpensive. Besides, my load is much more accurate than any. Yes, it can be cheaper to shoot, but not in my sealed can designed for 5.56 Nato.22lr but rarely through the can, the subsonic centerfire fire is for shooting vermin through the can. Maybe as a trainer that's why my dealer wants it? I dunno, I didn't ask.Ībout. Suppressed subsonic requires no hearing protection whatsoever. I'm guessing supersonic ammo is no good for the hearing after firing lots of it- heck, supersonic is still plenty loud. My bet is that it can't be solved unless the gun is modified, or has an adjustable gas port. To recap, I asked for another individual, but I find it an interesting problem and was wondering if anyone has solved it yet. I'm saying that I have no need of a load that cycles the action. If I ever had to drop game silently, so as not to give away position it doesn't need to function the rifle IMHO. Myself, If I have to shoot "other" vermin with the AR-15 I want supersonic ammo so that their buddies don't know where I am. The third thing he did was say," I'll never hear you exterminating red squirrels anymore.". The second thing he did was ask, "What the hell just happened?". I've been working on it on and off for about 15 years now.īTW, when my neighbor experienced the sub sonic load, the first thing he did was paste a big s-t eating grin on his face. Personally though, I find it an interesting problem in reloading and I'm an experimenter, that was another reason I asked the question- curiousity. For the AR-15, well, if you read the initial post, I was asking for my dealer, he's in LE (and a trainer) and I didn't ask why he wants it. I don't like bothering the neighbors when dispatching vermin, hence the Contender subsonic load, and I value what's left of my hearing. The big push on “ghost guns” looks like it was kickstarted by a comment from a retired agent after Biden’s inauguration. The linked annotation conveniently goes nowhere. We don’t know where the ATF gets this number and the claims from different agency mouthpieces conflict. … Last year alone, there were approximately 20,000 suspected ghost guns reported to ATF as having been recovered by law enforcement in criminal investigations – a ten-fold increase from 2016. Department of Justice has issued a final rule to rein in the proliferation of “ghost guns” – unserialized, privately-made firearms that law enforcement are increasingly recovering at crime scenes in cities across the country. Federal law prohibits these hobbyists from selling these legal builds without serial numbers. It is perfectly legal for a hobbyist who wants to build a rifle or handgun for their own personal use to do so and you’re not required to add a serial number to your hunk of metal during the build. Drilling out portions of the aluminum in specific ways brings this chunk of aluminum to meet the definition of a “firearm” as defined by the Gun Control Act. It describes an inoperable and unfinished portion of a firearm that a hobbyist can fabricate at home. The term “80% lower” is industry slang for a receiver/frame (whether rifle or handgun), a blank, an unserialized chunk of a type of aluminum or polymer that is inoperable and cannot operate unless it goes through further stages of fabrication/manufacturing.
